The Brazilians also laid down a marker as perhaps the best club side in Africa after securing a 2-1 win over Coton Sport in a Group B CAF Champions League clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The win sees Rulani Mokwena's side finish top of the group while remaining undefeated with four wins and two draws to end on 14 points, four points clear of Al Ahly and Al-Hilal.
In domestic action, Sundowns boast a massive 19-point lead with a game in hand over second-placed Orlando Pirates with a game in hand in what is one of the biggest league margins in world football.
In an unprecedented period of dominance, Sundowns also secured their 13th league title overall with the Patrice Motsepe-owned club continuing its success under Pitso Mosimane and now Mokwena.
Mokwena's side will be aiming for a second star to secure their tag as the best club team on the continent in the CAF Champions League.
Sundowns will likely be given a guard of honour as champions by Cape Town City in their next league clash on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
