Lesedi ‘TT’ Kapinga is having plenty considerations to make about his next move following the end of his stay at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The move to Sundowns promised heaven and earth when Kapinga made the switch from Black Leopards before the start of the 2020/23 season.

At Leopards, Kapinga had set the scene alight through the two years that he spent there after being snapped from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

It was no surprise that at the end of his two years at Leopards, the Musina born attacking midfielder was snapped by Sundowns.

This was a dream move for Kapinga whose career started out with amateur clubs Newcastle, Real Madrid, Theo Stars – all Musina-based clubs – before moving to Benny Care Academy in Makhado.

From there he had it rough.

Trials at Leopards, then under Solly Luvhengo brought no contract.

It was the same at United FC, then coached by Dan Malesela and that trend continued through to Highlands Park and the Sundowns Under-19 team where it was strangely suggested that he would be signed and loaned out.

Next stop was the Punch Masenamela tournament in Bochum where he was spotted by ABC Motsepe League club Dondol FC following which he had a brief spell with JDR Stars.

Joel Masutha then convinced TTM to bring him in for trials after they bought the franchise of Milano United in 2017 and after a season he moved to Leopards.

This time Leopards didn’t hesitate in handing Kapinga a contract and he went on to play under seven coaches in two years.

Now, after three years at Sundowns where he played 19 games (two goals) in his first season, 14 games (two goals) in his second before fizzling away with only six appearances last season the question at hand is what next.

Kapinga has been at the COSAFA Cup in recent weeks, but his club career is what matters.

Wildfire rumours have linked him with both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates but based on Kapinga’s career history he has every reason to be careful with the decision that he makes next.

The 28-year-old has made a loud appeal about his desire to find appreciation in his next move and play more than he did at Sundowns.
