Kaizer Chiefs top earner Keagan Dolly might has left himself knee deep in the mud and in desperate need of a Soweto Derby lift ahead of the blockbuster fixture on Saturday.
Dolly is into the last year of his contract at Chiefs and being a top earner at the club will attract microscopic attention just like was the case with Khama Billiat last season.

As the countdown continues, the 31-year-old’s performances on the field are yet to convince the authorities to offer him a new deal which will definitely not come with improved terms.
Dolly has no goal and just a single assist this season in eight appearances spread over 470 minutes.
The last time he scored was almost a year ago in the 2-1 league win over Stellenbosch which comes down to 11 games without finding the back of the net.
Through that time, he has missed 21 matches due to injury which further complicates his push for a new deal.
With all that has happened Saturday’s derby will be what Dolly needs to turn around his season and propel his drive for an extension.
A goal or two plus an assist or two through a man of the match performance will wipe off all that has happened to date this season.
Dolly has done it before as he scored a brace in his first match against Orlando Pirates in a Chiefs jersey before adding an assist in the reverse fixture.
The Soweto Derby overrides any other fixture on the calendar and be what defines a player’s season, so this is the moment for Dolly to bin below average marks from this term.

Dolly had encouraging numbers in his first two seasons with eight goals (plus five assists) in his first before delivering six (plus five assists) last season.
The heavy weight of his package means he must carry the weight of the team with goals and assists instead of misses and punctured displays.
