Kaizer Chiefs appear to have made a decision on the future of interim coach Cavin Johnson at the club, KickOff can exclusively reveal.
Johnson was in serious contention for a permanent head coach position after Amakhosi went to the Africa Cup of Nations break on a good run of form.
However, the Glamour Boys started the new year on a bad note, as in addition to their struggles in the league, which have continued to date, they were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup in the first round by lower-league side Milford FC.

Johnson has been asked a few times in his press conferences on what his future looks like ahead of the new season, with the coach stressing that the decision lies with the club's management.
As previously reported by this publication, Chiefs have been having urgent meetings, going through potential candidates to take over the coaching reigns permanently, in preparation for the 2024/25 campaign.
A source close to the matter has revealed that Amakhosi appear to be decided on securing a new coach, as Johnson getting a permanent head coach role at the end of the season was dependent on results.
The former Al Ahly assistant coach is set to return to his previous role as Head of Youth, different to former head coach Molefi Ntseki, who was not retained at Naturena after he was removed from head coach position, having joined as Head of Academy.
"Chiefs are looking at different profiles at the moment, coach Cavin will return to his previous role as Head of Youth," a source familiar with the dealings at Chiefs revealed.
"Chiefs were trying to see the results, there might have been a possibility that they would make him the head coach permanently, but the results are not consistent," the source added.

Amakhosi have been linked with the return of Muhsin Ertugral and Vladimir Vermezovic while Brazilian coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is believed to be one of the names under consideration after Chiefs were unsuccessful in attempts to lure Nasreddine Nabi and Alexandre Gallo last year.
"At the moment, it will definitely be a foreign coach (taking over). There's no other local profile that can go there except Pitso (Mosimane)," noted the source.
