Cavin Johnson's report card shows that he has failed to improve the fortunes of Kaizer Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cavin Johnson has left himself heading towards becoming the worst coach to run the rule at the club throughout the trophy drought years.

Johnson has been the interim boss at Chiefs since the sacking of Molefi Ntseki in October last year.

From the smiles that he had after an encouraging start which came with four wins out of six, Johnson is now in the dumps.

The Soweto giants have won just once in the last nine games, leaving their huge fanbase a dejected lot who have long given up on finding joy this season.

For all the arguments that can come about how Amakhosi have played, what matters are the results and this what Johnson – just like all before him – will be judged on.

With five wins from 15 games, it means the veteran coach is standing on a 33,3% winning mark.

At Christmas, the 65-year-old had the best winning percentage (66,6 %) of all coaches that have been at the club since the last trophy success.

However, Johnson has found himself sinking to below the 35% mark that Giovanni Solinas achieved when he was surprisingly brought in to call the shots in 2018.

Only Molefi Ntseki (30,8%) and Gavin Hunt (27,2%) have had worse marks through their time at the helm at Chiefs.

The side has already had three spells of four games without a win, which provides the fundamentals of what has been the definition of their season.

Johnson took over the Chiefs job with a winning return of 33,7% from all his previous head coach jobs at AmaZulu FC, Platinum Stars, SuperSport United and Platinum Stars.

Amakhosi’s management are already on the search for a new coach to take over next season, which is justifiable considering the lack of results.

Johnson is now expected to oversee the remaining seven league games before making way for a new coach.
