Bafana Bafana midfielder Sphephelo Sithole's agent Manuel Tomas has exclusively opened up to KickOff on reports linking his client with Kaizer Chiefs.

Sithole has been praised as a revelation in Bafana's midfield since being unearthed by head coach Hugo Broos.

'Yaya' had an outstanding AFCON alongsid Teboho Mokoena in the centre of the park, where the duo competed toe-to-toe with some of the best midfielders in world football like Yves Bissouma of Tottenham Hotspur, Amadou Haidara of RB Leipzig (Mali) and Manchester United's Sofyan Amrabat (Morocco).

There has been a lot of surprises that Sithole still plays in the Portuguese second division for Tondela, though the 25-year-old has been linked with a move to a bigger European club when the current season comes to an end.

However, there are reports in local media that Chiefs are also interested in the services of the physically imposingplayer and that they are eyeing him as one of the priority signings for next season.

Tomas, who represents the former junior international, opened up on those reports, in an exclusive interview with KickOff.

The Portugal-based agent says he has not yet been approached by Chiefs, but he is open to listening to offers.

"No one talked with me (at Chiefs) about that situation, only European clubs," Tomas revealed.

"I work for my client, you know, for Yaya. If some offer comes, I will go to my client and explain what the type of the contract or proposal is and after that we will discuss our way or next move," he said.

"But until now, Kaizer Chiefs have not told me anything. No one from South Africa (clubs) has called me. Only European clubs," added the agent.

Amakhosi previously tried to sign Kobamelo Kodisang from Portuguese side Braga ahead of the 2022/23 season, but their offer was rejected after weeks of negotiations.

Sithole is contracted to Tondela until June 2025.
