Former Kaizer Chiefs manager Sergio Dos Santos says it was embarrassing to watch the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals draw without Amakhosi being present.

Amakhosi were knocked out in the first round of the cup competition by lower division side Milford FC, and now Dos Santos is of the opinion that the players should take all the blame for embarrassing such an established brand.

"How is it possible that Chiefs can lose to Milford? It was an embarrassing result," he blurts out.

"I'm not taking anything away from Milford, but how can Chiefs lose to a club like them? It was embarrassing for the club. Yesterday, there was no Chiefs' name in the draw, that was embarrassing. The players must take full responsibility for that.

"Chiefs' problem is that there are too many young boys who don't know the culture of Kaizer Chiefs and there are also too many older players who don't understand what it means to wear that jersey. So, if you put those two things together, you are looking for trouble. You watched the penalty shoot-out against Milford, it was embarrassing!

"There was one Kaizer Chiefs player who missed a penalty, and he walked away with a smile on his face. Come on, man!" added the outspoken Dos Santos.

"It's always a shame when Chiefs is not on top of things, they should have been there (in the draw) yesterday. They are the ones who set the standards for South African football, but what they are doing now is embarrassing.

"The supporters right now are in a lot of pain. They are struggling to be able to smile."

Furthermore, Dos Santos says with the absence of the Glamour Boys in the competition, he expects either Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns to go all the way.

"When you have a cup draw, everyone wants the best teams to go through to the final, and I think that’s what we've got here. That said though, Stellenbosch FC against SuperSport United is the final before the final. That is going to be a big game. Both teams won't be happy they will be facing each other. They are very close in terms of style of play and positions in the league.

He went on to give his predictions...

"I expect Sundowns to beat AmaTuks, I expect Orlando Pirates to beat AmaZulu FC. And because they are going to play at home, TS Galaxy is going to be strong enough to beat Chippa United.

"One thing is for sure, Sundowns, it doesn't matter who they play against in the semi-finals, they are the team of the moment, so they must be the favorites for this cup competition. And also, in the semi-finals, Stellenbosch or SuperSport United, as long as they avoid Sundowns, they'll go to the final.

"Sundowns in the final will play either SuperSport, Stellenbosch or Orlando Pirates."
