The Premier Soccer League has ordered Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC to pay out one of the club's former players.

Jampies took the failure of the club to honour his contract to the PSL. According to the Jampies, the club owes him R725 000 plus 7% interest.

“I'm relieved. The PSL, they did the right thing this time,” the former Jomo Cosmos full-back tells KickOff.

“The DRC have granted me the damages money, I'm just waiting for TTM to pay now. I have suffered for a very long time. They should pay in the next month. My lawyer will tell me on Thursday what’s happening. I have received the email stating that I have won my case.

“They have already paid me my salaries of a R105 000, but they tried to forge my signature as well, saying I have signed a termination letter, which is untrue, and until today they have players there that they are doing the same thing to," he added.

“I’m happy that now I’m out of that, they just have to give me what is mine so that I can get my life and my family’s life back on track. I have lost a lot, I have lost my cars, I have lost my furniture, haven’t got an income for the last eight, nine months. We are talking about R725 000 x 7% interest. That’s 7% times five months if I’m not mistaken.

“I had three years contract remaining, so I was remaining with two years and seven or eight months. Football has become a very cruel game now, it’s tough. What TTM has done to me is sad. I didn’t want to go this route, I told them to do the right thing, but they told me it’s none of their business and I must go to the PSL if I wanted to.”

KickOff reached out to the club for comment, who responded through their legal representative, Kabelo Mashego.

"That is the ruling, but it is still subject for appeal because he was granted for future damages, meaning he has to be paid for the upcoming season. Because for the current season he was already paid his money. What Jampies did now, he went to the league and wanted to be paid for the 2023/24 season," Mashego informed KickOff.

"Whereas he can find another job, he decides to sue a club that has been relegated. We are of the view that the league has not made a correct ruling in granting him damages of that nature. What happens if Jampies finds a job tomorrow at Kaizer Chiefs? What happens to the extra money that he is getting from TTM?

"We're planning to appeal, I’m just waiting for the club to give me a go ahead," he added.
