Cape Town Spurs 2-0 Platinum City Rovers

Cape Town Spurs returned to top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table after seeing off Platinum City Rovers 2-0 at the Athlone Stadium on Friday.

After a goalless first half, the host were up and running a little from the break through Therlo Moosa with the visitors caught out at the back.

Spurs then increased their lead and ultimately secured the maximum points courtesy of an effort by Asenele Velebayi and left the travelling outfit pointless.

JDR Stars 2-2 Polokwane City

Polokwane City surrendered top spot and dropped to second spot after holding JDR Stars to a 2-2 draw at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.

Rise and Shine launched the first blow from a finish by Simon Ramabu, the Hammerboyz levelled through Elias Mocheko before Kamohelo Sithole’s strike put them ahead a little thereafter.

The promotion-chasing Rise and Shine bounced back around full-time and saw a scorching finish from the half-way line by Joseph Mhongo give them a share of the spoils.

NB La Masia 2-1 Pretoria Callies

Pretoria Callies resurgence were dealt a set-back following a 2-1 loss at the hands of NB La Masia in at the Brakpan Stadium in Tsakane.

Callies looked to continue their solid run of form with the opener from Siyabonga Dubula, but Mogamat May cancelled it out and forced both teams level at the break.

The host maintained courage following the break and got the winner through Fuad Johnson as the victory strengthens their quest to beat the drop.

Hungry Lions FC 0-0 Black Leopards

Black Leopards continued their battle to beat relegation and held Hungry Lions FC to a goalless draw out in the Northern Cape province.

Lidoda Duvha still sit in troubled territory in particular the foot of the table and lie a further five points off 14th place Platinum City Rovers, with Lions firm in fourth position.

All Stars FC 2-1 Baroka FC

All Stars FC got back to winning ways to continue cementing their spot in the top-half following a 2-1 win over Baroka FC.

Both teams had a go at each other after the match kicked-off and were level at the course of the halftime period.

However, All Stars showed relentless courage following the resumption and secured the win to solidify fifth-place with Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele 12th.

Casric Stars 1-0 University of Pretoria

Casric Stars kept the pressure on the leaders Cape Town Spurs with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the University of Pretoria at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

Striker Kgomotso Mosadi got the winner in the middle of the first half and eventually handed Stars a crucial three points as the battle to win outright promotion hots up.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 2-0 Magesi FC

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC boosted their fight against relegation in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 2-0 victory over Magesi FC on Sunday.

It is also Tshakhuma’s first win since November and though still sit in the bottom-two despite getting off the basement following this win, as Magesi languish in tenth position.

Uthongathi FC 1-1 Venda Football Academy

Uthongathi's run without a win stretched to three matches as the outfit failed to overcome Venda Football Academy, who grinded out a 1-1 draw.

The Cane Cutters thus remain seventh on the table with this their third straight stalemate, whereas Venda pop up in 11th position on the standings.
