After being eliminated from the Nedbank Cup tournament Dondol Stars are now focusing on gaining promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.

Dondol added their name to the Nedbank Cup history books after reaching the quarterfinals of the Ke Yona Cup competition.

The Tshwane-based side defeated DStv Premiership sides SuperSport United and AmaZulu on their way to the quarter-finals.

Before taking Soweto giants Orlando Pirates to a penalty shoot-out at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

"We learnt a lot in this Nedbank Cup tournament," coach Vincent Rammoni tells KickOff.

Firstly, in terms of being organised as a structure and being more professional in terms of logistics.

"I think also to be a little bit more aggressive in certain moments.

"I think if we were more aggressive in certain moments, where we could have sealed the game.

"The focus is now on the league. It's always been the league. We have put the Nedbank Cup behind us.

"The boys are highly motivated to achieve our dream of playing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.

Dondol secured their spot in the ABC Motsepe League promotional play-offs, with two games to spare with a 2-0 win over JBM FC on Wednesday.
