Former Kaizer Chiefs star-man Khama Billiat has had a tough start to life with new side Yadah FC the in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, still searching for their first win of the season after two matches.

Billiat has been unable to assert himself in the Zimbabwean top-flight so far this season, failing to register either a goal or assist in two outings.

Tipped to be the star of the show, Billiat struggled to assert himself as goals from Enock Moyo and Carlton Munzwaba were the only eventful moments of the 1-1 stalemate between Yadah and Bikita Minerals, played on Sunday.

Minerals coach Saul Chaminuka went as far as revealing what could have possibly been the remedy to nullify the talismanic Billiat.

"Khama Billiat is just like any other human being or player with two legs and two hands. You saw that he was just ordinary and I think the message I drove home to my players, that they should just treat him like all the other players, worked out well for us," Chaminuka was quoted as saying by The Chronicle.

That underwhelming performance aside, Billiat is still likely to come in handy for Yadah this season and already showed his star quality when he struck a brace against Mozambican top-flight side Club Ferroviario da Beira just a week prior to matchday one.

'Gaucho' joined Yadah in a big-money move after having spent several months in South Africa as a free agent. This was following his shock exit from Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season when contract renewal talks collapsed.

Although Billiat reportedly held talks with several clubs, with Cape Town City and SuperSport United linked with the Zimbabwean, he ultimately chose a return to his homeland for what has been one of the biggest arrivals of the Zimbabwean PSL in recent years.

Yadah supporters will care little for history and hope the ex-Ajax Cape Town attacker proves his worth in gold when The Miracle Boys host Dynamos on Friday. Kick-off is at 15:00.
