Sekhukhune United 1-0 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns relinquished top spot in the DStv Diski Challenge to Stellenbosch FC following a 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday.

Sundowns came into the game high on confidence after defeating Chippa United, but came unstuck against Babina Noko who pushed them to the edge right from the start.

With the first half goalless, Babina Noko took full control of proceedings and snatched the winner late on through Keletso Sifama.

Orlando Pirates 0-1 Stellenbosch FC

Orlando Pirates' title hopes in the league continued to fall away after a disappointing 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch FC, who moved to the top of the table.

Pirates had the going tough from the onset and unsurprisingly fell behind inside 20 minutes courtesy of Langelihle Phiri’s finish.

However, not all was lost for the Buccaneers who were given a platform to go level and hope to salvage something but Mohlala was unable to profit from the spot-kick.

Pirates didn’t sit back but continued pushing the Maroons all the way in the hope of a response which unfortunately didn’t come and saw them suffer defeat.

SuperSport United 1-0 Moroka Swallows

SuperSport United clinched a third successive win to cement sixth spot on the table standings after overcoming Moroka Swallows 1-0 in Atteridgeville.

It took a stunner from Sifiso Mazibuko from a delivery by Oratilwe Moloisane to separate the protagonists and left Matsatsantsa smiling all the way to maximum points.

Cape Town Spurs 4-0 Chippa United

Cape Town Spurs bagged a fourth win on the bounce to cement seventh place on the table following a commanding 4-0 victory over Chippa United.

For the Chilli Boys, it’s the exact opposite sequence of fortunes with this the side’s fourth defeat in as many matches and sit in 12th position on the standings.

The Urban Warriors were in control straight from kick-off and didn’t lose sight but were two goals up at the break before finishing off the job afterwards.

AmaZulu 1-0 Richards Bay FC

AmaZulu snapped a three-match losing run to remain outside the bottom-two after recording a narrow 1-0 victory over Richards Bay FC in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.

The strike that separated the two happened ten minutes before halftime courtesy of a certain Siphamandla Zikhali as the Natal Rich Boys went to sleep.

Royal AM 2-2 TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy managed to halt a run of three successive defeats to avoid falling further down the pecking order following a 2-2 draw with Royal AM.

It’s been a barren run of results lately for Galaxy, who have to go all the way back to the end of January for their last win against the self-same Thwihli Thwahla.

On the other hand, Thwihli Thwahla are able to bounce back from last weekend’s capitulation at Cape Town City albeit getting just a point off the Rockets and remain in the mid-table slot.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-2 Polokwane City

Kaizer Chiefs' chances to claim a top-three spot in the DStv Diski Challenge suffered a blow after going down 2-1 to rock-bottom Polokwane City on Saturday.

Aside from a successive loss, the Amakhosi also missed the opportunity to go third ahead of their perennial rivals Orlando Pirates and are lie fourth on the table.

Despite the win, City remain at the bottom and held the Amakhosi at the break before returning to snatch all the points on offer.

Golden Arrows 1-2 Cape Town City

Cape Town City followed up last weekend’s dominance over Royal AM to edge another KwaZulu-Natal-based side Golden Arrows 2-1 to cement fifth spot.

With just four matches to go, City are looking more and more likelier to stay in the current position as Jody Ahshene opened the deadlock before Samukele Mlaba responded to have things level at halftime.

However, it was the visitors who grabbed all the honours on display when a particular Titus Carelse nabbed the winner in the dying seconds to the final whistle.
