Carling Knockout semi-finals are set to get underway.

Joel Masutha has made a bold prediction regarding which two clubs will make it into the final of the Carling Knockout final.

The first semi-final sees Richards Bay FC host Stellenbosch FC at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday, while on Sunday Mpumalanga province-based club TS Galaxy FC travel to Moses Mabhida Stadium to take on AmaZulu FC.

Both matches will kick off at 15:00.

Masutha believes Stellenbosch and AmaZulu will be the two teams playing in the 2023 final.

"Stellenbosch they are the in-form team at the moment and they've been scoring both home and away," the former Chippa United coach told KickOff.

"They have been together for some time and that consistency gives them some edge.

"A win for Richards Bay in this one might give them a boost going into their league games.

"This time I don't think Richards Bay will sit back as they did against Pirates. And once they play an open game, with the speed that Stellenbosch have, Richards Bay will lose.

"With Stellenbosch a home advantage doesn't matter. They've got a very, very strong defence and their break attacks are something else. They are very deadly. They are the most dangerous team when it comes to break attacks.

"Richards Bay has improved defensively but still has a lot to do offensively," he added.

"AmaZulu and TS Galaxy it's going to be a difficult one. Both teams are very organised. The two coaches have done extremely well.

"Galaxy always plays without fear, they don't sit back and rely on breaks.

"But at the same time, the understanding between the players and the coach has improved at AmaZulu.

"In Kwem and Dion, they have two big animals upfront. Both of them can score goals at any given time. Also the experience of Ramahlwe Mphahlele at the back, they now understand playing with three centre-backs.

"There is very little to choose from the two teams, but I will give it to AmaZulu based on the fact that they were in the final not so long ago.

"They are a home team and they have to do it for their fallen hero Bongi Ntuli. They want to honour him."
