Lehlohonolo Majoro has revealed how not having money to purchase luxury items inspired him to do great things.

The man who adopted the nickname "Major" is currently 37 years of age and gave viewers a peek into the start of his career as he opened up about the items he saw while attending his first Bafana Bafana camp that motivated his rise to eminence.

Majoro made his Bafana debut in 2011, but prior to making his first appearance on the pitch, wearing the iconic yellow and green jersey, he reflected on the hunger he had while still striving to make his mark on the footballing landscape in Mzansi.

"I remember when I first got to Bafana Bafana, I saw these Louis Vuitton's; I see the Apple iPhones," he said on a podcast with 10bet.

"I went on my phone and I googled how much it cost.

"I saw that bag and I looked at my salary and I was like, 'Hell no, I still have a long way to go.'

"You see, so those things were the ones that made me to always wanted to achieve more, to push more.

"Because you asked about the hunger, like having played for both Chiefs and Pirates, like it's all about the burning desire within you.

"Like, there's one that I wasn't even looking into but that just happened through my hard work. I'm in the top 10 all-time goal scorers in the League."

Over a glistening career, Majoro represented various South African clubs that include the likes of Highlands Park, AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits.

Known for the danger he poses in front of goal, the attacker has scored 79 goals and garnered 20 assists in 323 professional appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
