Kagisho Dikgacoi thinks Siphiwe Tshabalala will prove his quality during his 10-day trial with Crystal Palace.
The Bafana Bafana vice-captain was at Palace’s training ground in south London on Thursday as he attempts to secure a move to the English Championship club.
Dikgacoi confirms that Tshabalala joined Dougie Freedman’s squad for a light morning session, but the Kaizer Chiefs star is expected to take part in full training on Friday.
“He was there but we didn’t do much because we were doing some recovery work ahead of Saturday’s game,” KG tells KickOff.com.
“Most of the guys who played in the last two matches against Millwall and Leicester were resting, but we will be back doing intensive training on Friday so he will be joining in with us then.”
Tshabalala has been granted permission to attend the trials by Chiefs after a similar arrangement with Nottingham Forest last season. But Dikgacoi, who joined Palace from Fulham last year, has backed his international teammate to be successful.
“Tshabalala has what it takes to play in this League – even in the Premiership,” Dikgacoi tells KickOff.com.
“He is an experienced international player, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up signing. It would be great to have another South African at the club, so I hope he does well.”
