Tsepo Masilela is hoping to be fit for Getafe's meeting with European champions Barcelona next weekend.
The Bafana Bafana full back was taken off during the first-half of the 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast in Port Elizabeth on Saturday after picking up a hamstring strain in his right leg. Masilela had previously been recovering from a similar injury to his other leg that has kept him out of action in La Liga since the end of September and his agent Paschalis Tountouris admits it is a frustrating time for the player on a season-long loan from Israelis Maccabi Haifa. "Tsepo's back in Spain and he is continuing his rehab but I believe he will be ready to play again in about 10 days," Tountouris tells KickOff.com. "It is very frustrating for him because he was starting to play well but got the injury against Espanyol in September. It would have been better for him to make a full recovery but he had to travel to South Africa to play for the national team and now he is going to lose another two weeks. It's not good because he wants to be playing." Having seen a move to English Championship side Leicester City fall through, Masilela was training with Moroka Swallows in pre-season before eventually signing for Madrid's third biggest team. He has since made four appearances in a Getafe shirt but will not be part of the squad that travels to meet relegation rivals Sporting Gijon on Sunday. "It was a tough season for him from the beginning – because of the situation with Maccabi Haifa he didn't make proper preparations and maybe that's why he is getting hamstring injuries now? But he will have the time to make a full recovery and come back in a better condition so he can be ready for the final two weeks of the season," says Tountouris.
