Chelsea are reportedly ready to continue their spending spree in this window by splashing the cash on another €100 million (R1.8 billion) star before the transfer deadline.
The Blues have been spending big since the consortium led by Todd Boehly took charge of the club in May 2022, having paid an astronomical €490 million (R9.1 billion) to sign new players so far, according to Transfermarkt.

In fact, in the previous transfer window, Chelsea broke the world record for the highest spend during a single window with their reported outlay of €311 million (R5.8 billion).
The most expensive signing made by the London club so far in January is Mykhailo Mudryk, having agreed to a deal worth €100 million (R1.8 billion), including add-ons, to prise him away from Shakhtar Donetsk.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have now reopened talks to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica before the January transfer window shuts on Tuesday night.
Graham Potter's side pursued the Argentine earlier this month, but the Portuguese club refused to deviate from their valuation of the player, a demand deemed to be too hefty by the Blues at the time.
However, Chelsea have now re-entered the frame to secure his signature and will be looking to wrap up the deal before 1 February.
Argentina's TYC Sports reports that the EPL club's latest bid is worth €100 million (R1.8 billion) plus a star Benfica can choose in what is essentially a player-plus-cash deal, although it is claimed the Primeira Liga giants are only willing to part ways with Fernandez if his release clause, said to be valued at €119 million (R2.2 billion), is paid.

Personal terms are also understood to not be an issue as Fernandez is eager to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
