EPL legend 'in talks' to become Foster's new coach

A Premier League legend is reportedly in talks to replace Vincent Kompany at relegated Burnley.

The Clarets are searching for a new manager after Kompany jumped ship to take on the managerial role at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Assistant coach Craig Bellamy has been placed as the acting head coach in the meantime while the club searches for a successor.

According to TalkSPORT, the relegated side are in talks with former Chelsea and Everton coach Frank Lampard about replacing Kompany.

Lampard has been a free agent since parting ways with Everton in the 2022/2023 season when he was replaced by Sean Dyche.

The former Everton coach is no stranger to the Championship, having guided Derby County to the play-off final in 2019 during his first season with the club.

The report adds that talks between the Chelsea legend and Burnley are still at an early stage.

Bellamy is also said to be in the frame of the manager role, but the Welshman could join Kompany's backroom staff at Bayern.
