A Cameroon star has now urged Samuel Eto'o to make less appearances in the national team dressing room, and revealed that he even took a training session at the latest AFCON.
Eto'o boasts a glittering legacy as a player, having been crowned African Football of the Year a joint-record four times, a feat matched only by Ivorian legend Yaya Toure.

Furthermore, the former Indomitable Lions captain still holds the record for being the only player in history to win back-to-back trebles with two different clubs (FC Barcelona and Inter Milan) in Europe's top five leagues, according to Tribuna.
However, his stint as president of the Cameroon Footballer Federation (FECAFOOT) has been far less impressive, with the 43-year-old having been mired in various controversies since taking the role in December 2021.
During the recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, it was alleged that Eto'o was involved in a dressing room bust-up with another Cameroonian icon, Geremi Njitap.
It was reported that Eto'o had instructed his security team to evict Geremi from the team locker room while he was making a speech alongside other dignitaries who were there to congratulate the squad for their win over The Gambia, which saw them progress to the AFCON's round of 16.
There have been other reports of Eto'o going in the dressing room and even on to the training ground to address issues and performances himself, even at the abovementioned AFCON.

Cameroon forward Georges-Kevin N'Koudou has now shed light on Eto'o's heavy involvement in the team.
"I like him a lot because, in terms of football, he gave me a lot of advice," the Damac FC striker said, according to AllezLesLions.
"Yes, the president did a training session during AFCON. He wanted to help us, give us an idea for a game; in short, he wanted to share his experience.
"Sometimes he makes comments to me, but I respond, it's true that he sometimes has a problem, but he's a great brother.
"However, he always has good advice.
"What I find unfortunate is that he was a player and, as a result, he knows what it's like when someone enters the locker room too much.
"He can give advice but not be in the locker room too much. So that's something he needs to erase.
"On the other hand, at AFCON, he was there more for advice because he didn't enter the locker room too much. He loves his country too much and he wants to do so well for the Lions that he acts out of love."
