Sekhukhune ‘dig gold’ in sealing latest signing

Sekhukhune United's planning for the second half of the season is in full motion with the completion of their latest signing to be registered in January.

KickOff.com can confirm that Sekhukhune have done a deal with wingback Alves Ngakosso-Oko.

The Congolese has agreed to a six-month deal with an option of a further two years and is awaiting the issuing of his work permit.

Ngakosso-Oko is already training with the club and has made an impression on Lehlohonolo Seema, who is keen to use him either at right-back, wingback or in midfield.

It is believed the new recruit's foreign space will be created with the loaning out of Lesotho international Teboho Letsema.

Ngakosso-Oko has been playing his football for Diables Noirs from Congo-Brazzaville and troubled Sekhukhune last season in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The 24-year-old scored from 40 metres out in that game, leaving Babina Noko salivating in admiration.

Sekhukhune have been forced to go into the market following what happened with Shaune Mogaila, who was involved in a car accident which led to the death of a schoolkid.

Mogaila was the first-choice right-back but the technical team has since turned to Njabulo Ngcobo and Katlego Mkhabela minus him.

At present, Mogaila is out on R20 000 bail after appearing in court facing charges of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and fleeing the scene.

The 29-year-old was on the steering of the BMW which was involved in an accident on the morning of October 30 just hours after he had played 90 minutes against Richards Bay FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

His next court appearance is on February 4, 2025.
