Kabelo Mahlasela contracted to Polokwane City, future to be decided

In June the attacking midfielder's agent confirmed to this website that the player has signed a new contract and was no longer going back to parent club Kaizer Chiefs.

But with the Limpopo side now relegated, it remains to be seen if the player will drop down with the club to the GladAfrica Championship.

Mahlasela's agent Tshepo Mabona says it is up to Rise and Shine what they plan to do with his client.

"Kabelo is a Polokwane City player and that is a decision of the club," he tells snl24.com/kickoff.

The club's chief operations officer Tincy Tema says a decision on the player will only be made when they report back for pre-season on the 15th of this month.

"You will only get an answer to that on the 15th," says Tema. "So Mahlasela's got a contract with the club, he is not released. You can call me after the 15th."

The club has already parted ways with head coach Clinton Larsen after failing to reach an agreement on a reduced package.
