CONFIRMED: Bucs attacker secures loan move

Orlando Pirates have announced the departure of a first team player just days before the transfer window closes.

Attacking midfielder Gilberto has returned to Angola and will join Petro de Luanda on loan for the remainder of the season.

"Orlando Pirates has reached an agreement for the loan transfer of Angolan international Gilberto to Petro de Luanda for the remainder of the season," the club's statement read.

"The move sees Gilberto return to his hometown club, pending the successful completion of a medical."

The Angolan's time in South Africa has not been smooth sailing, having appeared just five times in the Betway Premiership for the Buccaneers this campaign.

The 23-year-old becomes the third player to leave the Buccaneers this month, following the departures of Katlego Otladisa (loan) and Sandile Mthethwa.
