Lorch: 'I could see their legs were gone'

Midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch has praised his teammates' fighting spirit as Orlando Pirates ended a run of four matches without a win with a 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United.

The Buccaneers were made to wait late as the 78th minute to break the deadlock through Thabiso Monyane and seal a first win in four matches at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.

Lorch, who was voted the Man of the Match, admitted that fatigued had creeped in the squad after having played three matches in the space of seven days.

"It was important to push to push the guys, I could see the legs were gone," Lorch told the club's media after the match.

"We played on Wednesday, and the weekend, it's not easy but we keep going. I'm happy for the guys. I'm proud of them for pushing. It's not easy.

"My confidence is getting there each and every game. I just need to help the team win games, that's very important for me.

"The Man of the Match (award), we'll see. The most important thing for me is to help the team get maximum points.
