Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino's transfer saga appears set to continue with discussions on a potential move to the Middle East ongoing.
Sirino has standing interest from Pitso Mosimane's UAE club Al Wahda but the fact that he still has a contract with Sundowns until June 2025 has been the hurdle so far.

Sundowns will only be tempted by double figures in the rand million valuation just like what happened with Cassius Mailula after MLS club Toronto tabled an offer beyond what The Brazilians had anticipated.
The Uruguayan is settled with his family in South Africa – where he now holds permanent residence – but considering that he turns 33 in February is open for an improved deal that will further secure his future.
This website has been told there have been discussions, but it remains unclear if a deal can be done in this window.
The UAE transfer window closes on September 21.
According to Transfermarket, Sirino's value has been listed at R6.8 million.
Word from the Middle East is that while Mosimane is keen on Sirino, Al Wahda have yet to give the tactician the leeway to make signings of his choice.
However, with the line of positive results as he starts the job at the King Salman Club Cup, the authorities at Al Wahda are softening up to him.
Al Wahda have already gone through to the quarter-finals of the tournament in Saudi Arabia.
Mosimane has already given the club management his wish list which includes Sirino.

Sirino was signed by Sundowns from Bolivar La Paz (Bolivia) in January 2018 while Mosimane was still in charge at Chloorkop.
Through his time at Sundowns, Sirino has acquired South African permanent residency which qualifies him for Bafana Bafana selection having never played for his homeland Uruguay before.
Sirino was wanted by Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly prior to Mosimane taking over and the interest continued into the former Bafana Bafana coach's stay in Cairo.
In the end a deal couldn't be struck after Sirino penned a new deal at Sundowns.
However, the prospects of improving his earnings in the Middle East will tempt Sirino again considering that he stands to double the package that he is currently on at Sundowns.
Sirino featured in 27 games last season and scored thrice (plus five assists) last season (2022/23).
