Penalty, yes, but it was done with flair in what is known as a Panenka as Sundowns moved into the final of the Carling Knockout.
That was goal contribution number 11 for the season from 12 matches.
From that list, seven have been goals and the other four assists and this coming while not playing from the flanks, more like what Mohammed Salah does at Liverpool.
This coming after a debut season in which he had 25 goal contributions after arriving from Belgium.
That then puts the Brazilian up to 36 goal contributions since arriving at Chloorkop, where he has now put the stamp on how influential and effective he has become.
Top marks for whoever did the job in identifying the 26-year-old and bringing him to South Africa.
The goal against Cape Town City two weeks ago was yet another reminder about what difference Ribeiro Costa would make in the Bafana Bafana team considering that he will never get close to earning a cap for Brazil.
As five-time world champions, Brazil are in no comparison to Bafana, whose best moments merely come with qualification for the World Cup.

How long Ribeiro Costa remains in South Africa will be determined by what Sundowns pay him and how far they go in keeping him happy at the club.
Ribeiro Costa left Brazil as a teenager having only played for the reserve team of Brazilian club Pinheiros Atletico Clube, before spending time in France and Belgium, where he played in the Second division prior to moving to South Africa.
