My Dream Team: Manqoba Ngwenya

In this edition of My Dream Team, former Mamelodi Sundowns and Wits University FC star Manqoba "Shakes" Ngwenya reveals the 10 best players he featured alongside during his playing career.

What formation?

"4-3-3. They must build from the back. Wingers are always going forward; they are not really defenders."

Goalkeeper

"The best goalkeeper I've ever played with is Rowen Fernandez. He's got the height, accuracy and ball distribution, aerial power, strength, got good technique with his feet. He was just a complete keeper."

Defenders

"My right-back is Vuyo Mere, at his prime, he had stamina, and could go up and down the flanks.

"The two centre-backs will be OJ Mabizela and Benson Mhlongo. They are both leaders who are able to marshal the defence.

"Left-back will be Thabiso Rammile. He and Vuyo were good with overlapping. They don't tire easily and there is that quality of crosses."

Midfield

"Lucky Qaba will be in the middle of the park. He brings the cream. Got quality and talent. Things he did at training showed he was above average. It's just that in football you also need luck.

"I will also put Surprise Moriri in there. He marshalled the midfield. Was able to change the pace of the game. He almost reminds me of Themba Zwane. Have one of the best first touches I've ever seen.

"On the left, I will put Siaka Tiene. That one good had a good technique. It was not by chance that he played with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at PSG."

Strikers

"I will put Josta Dladla on the right. He brings both the pace and quality crosses. That will enable me to finish from the near post. Me and him we used to finish teams while we were at Wits.

"So, I'm one of the strikers and Daniel 'Mambush' Mudau will be the main striker. He is a prolific striker."

2. Daniel Mudau - 110 goals ('Mambush' scored 179

Substitutes

"Brian Baloyi, Roan Malgue, Godfrey Sapula, my striker will be Raphael Chukwu."

Coach

"Ted Dumitru. He allowed you to play your own game."
