Amakhosi host the Zambian giants in a CAF Confederation Cup second leg play-off match, after they were beaten 3-1 in the first leg at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last Sunday.
A 2-0 victory will ensure the Soweto giants progress to the group stages of the competition, but they need to keep out the likes of Lazarous Kambole and Jesse Jackson Were.
“We will have to be quick on our feet and make sure we convert our chances,” said Middendorp, after Chiefs edged AmaZulu 3-2 in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday night.
Middendorp feels Zesco were given special treatment by the officials in the first leg and has warned his players to be physically strong to overcome the threat the hosts pose.
“We saw some very rough football there, referee was only giving them warnings. I believe some of the players should've got red cards,” the German born coach said.
He added “Our boys must be physically strong on the night. We need those goals and I'm confident we will do well at home."
The former Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows mentor believes they have what it takes to get the required result to progress.
“We have 90 minutes or more, enough time to win this leg. I'm confident we will come on top and move to the next round.”
A big concern for Chiefs will be the amount of goals they’ve conceded in recent time. They’ve conceded seven goals in four matches in all competitions, something coach Middendorp would have probably addressed going into tonight’s game.
