Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League opponents confirmed

Mamelodi Sundowns' next opponents in the CAF Champions League have been confirmed.

The 2016 winners beat Congolese outfit Otoho d'Oyo 5-2 on aggregate in the preliminary round to move one step closer to reaching the group stages of the competition once again. After their comfortable victory over Otoho, Pitso Mosimane's men will now come up against Cote d'Or from Seychelles.

Cote d'Or are the reigning champions in Seychelles and have progressed to this stage of the competition for the first time in their history. Previously they have been knocked out in the preliminary stages, in 2014 and again in 2017.

This time, however, they overcame Fomboni from the Comoros on away goals, but Sundowns will be a totally different challenge for the minnows. The first-leg match will be played between September 13 and 15, while the second-leg encounter will be played two weeks later.

Sundowns are the only South African club left in the Champions League after Orlando Pirates were knocked out by Zambian outfit Green Buffaloes over the weekend.
