2016
Their most memorable will no doubt be the first leg final in 2016, when they turned it on to record a 3-0 win over Egyptian giants Zamalek at Lucas Moripe Stadium. They had beaten the same Zamalek side 2-1 in Egypt and 1-0 at home during the group stages.
The second leg semi-final against Zambian side Zesco United that same year showed they are side that. After getting a crucial away goal in a 2-1 first leg defeat, they returned to Atteridgeville to record a 2-0 win which sent them to the final.

2017
In 2017, Sundowns registered a 3-1 victory away from home in Kinshasa against AS Vita and beat Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, who are now familiar foes, 1-0 in the first leg quarterfinal at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
2018/19
During the group stages Sundowns renewed their rivalry with Wydad, winning 2-1 thanks to a brace from Themba Zwane. But the biggest victory in Sundowns' , other than the win over Zamalek in the 2016 first leg final, will no doubt be the 5-0 victory over the competition's most successful side Al Ahly in the quarterfinal first leg in Atteridgeville.
