The 27-year-old has been in fine scoring form having already reached double digits in the UCL this season, a tally that saw him set a new record for scoring the most goals (nine) in his first five Champions League appearances, per Opta Sports.

The former West Ham United star is not the only African who is among the UCL's lead marksmen so far, though – Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah also features with eight goals in seven matches.
The Egyptian scored back-to-back braces against Porto and Atletico Madrid in the group stage, and added to his tally against Inter Milan this week.

RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku is the only player who has been eliminated who still appears among the nine top scorers after the group stage due to his impressive seven strikes, which came against the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
