The world's most valuable starting XI

The world's most valuable starting XI has been revealed, with neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi making the final selection.

With Ronaldo and Messi nearing the back-end of their respective careers, a new generation of stars have replaced two all-time greats at the top of football's valuation charts, with neither player featuring in the world's most valuable combined starting XI.

That lineup stars Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak in goal behind a Liverpool-dominated defence which includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson, alongside Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt.

Bayern Munich ace Joshua Kimmich features at the base of an attack-minded midfield line-up which sees him occupy a deeper role, allowing Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes the freedom to bomb forward.

Up front, Paris Saint-Germain teammates Kylian Mbappé and Neymar lead the line alongside the Reds' Mohamed Salah, the latter two of whom are the only non-European stars who have made the latest most valuable list.
