Robinho reunited with ex-Manchester City teammate Emmanuel Adebayor at Istanbul Basaksehir

Since returning to Europe with Sivasspor after a spell in China and his homeland with Guangzhou Evergrande and Atlético Mineiro respectively, the 100-time capped Brazilian has proven he still has the ability to perform at the highest level.

The 34-year-old has scored eight goals and registered two assists in 16 Super Lig outings this season for Sivasspor, which has prompted league leaders Basaksehir to acquire his services.

He will join former City team-mate Adebayor, Gael Clichy, who played at the Etihad Stadium after Robinho left in 2010 and FC Barcelona loanee Arda Turan in the star-studded squad.

His latest moves comes at a time where he is facing intense media scrutiny.

In November 2017, he was sentenced in his absence by an Italian court to nine years in prison after being convicted, along with five other Brazilians, of the 2013 gang rape of an Albanian woman in a Milan nightclub.

However, at the time of the sentencing, Robinho was in Brazil, and under Brazilian law, a Brazilian citizen cannot be extradited by a foreign country.

Since pleading not guilty to the charges, the former Real Madrid star claimed he will appeal the decision.
