Pirates new sensation warned of Slay Queens in Gauteng

Orlando Pirates' new sensation, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, has been warned about women in Gauteng after his newfound fame in Johannesburg.

Mbokazi has been a revelation for Pirates since making his debut for the Buccaneers in their 1-0 win against Chippa United during the Betway Premiership match at the Nelson Bay Stadium a few weeks ago.

The 19-year-old defender has gone on to win two man-of-the-match awards against SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup and Betway Premiership, respectively.

Mbokazi won the hearts of the Ghosts after pocketing on-form Brazilian midfielder Lucas Ribeiro Costa to win the man of the match accolade during the Betway Premiership match played against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

Born in a rural village in KZN, the Pirates defender now is not only carrying the hopes of the Bucs fans to help their club win the Betway Premiership but also the dream for his family and the community of Hluhluwe.

Mbokazi's grandmother Thembisile Nxumalo is appealing to the youngster to remain focused on his football career and stay away from women in Gauteng.

"You must enjoy life but don't forget where you come from. Wherever you are now please look after yourself" Nxumalo told 1KZN TV.

"I want to warn you to be respectful and don't mess around with a nice life in Gauteng because they will destroy you. Come home and get your partner. Don't go all over the places in Gauteng, stay focused and collected, and leave out all the women in Gauteng because they will lead you astray.

"Leave out all the bad things and also alcohol. Please stay focused (with your job at Orlando Pirates) and remember the reason why you left home (for Gauteng)", she added.

Nicknamed Mbazo by his peers in the rural village of Hluhluwe, Mbekezeli Mbokazi has found a new nickname in Gauteng with the Bucs fans now calling him 'TLB'  because of his strength on the field of play.
