Olivier Giroud broke a 63-year-old France record after helping Les Bleus overcome Austria in their UEFA Nations League clash on Thursday night, and closed in on a huge Thierry Henry milestone in the process.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winners beat Ralf Rangnick's side by a scoreline of 2-0, with Kylian Mbappe and Giroud getting the goals.

After scoring and getting an assist in the match, Giroud was replaced by Ousmane Dembele and received a standing ovation from the Stade de France crowd as he walked off the pitch.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea frontman's goal ensured that he is now the oldest goalscorer in the nation's history.
At 35 years and 357 days, Giroud was 70 days older than Roger Marche was when he scored for Les Bleus against Spain in December 1959.
The Milan striker is also now on 49 strikes for France, which leaves him just two behind Henry's record of 51 goals as the country's leading goalscorer of all time.

Despite only being called up due to Karim Benzema being unavailable, Giroud will be hoping his performance against Austria will boost his chances of making Les Bleus' 2022 FIFA World Cup squad after seemingly falling down the pecking order since the Real Madrid striker's return to the national team fold in 2021.
