The UEFA Champions League's quarter-final matches are now said to be at risk of a terrorist attack.

The UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, which kick off tonight, are reportedly facing serious danger after threats made by a terrorist organisation.

The last eight of Europe's elite club competition is set to get underway on Tuesday, with Arsenal facing Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium, while Real Madrid will take on Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, these match venues now appear to be facing potentially devastating danger following a threat by the Islamic State (ISIS).

Per Spanish publication AS, a media outlet responsible for disseminating messages of ISIS, the Al Azaim Foundation, recently published an image of a poster threatening all four aforementioned stadiums with the message: "Kill them all."

According to Marca, the Madrid government has since activated security measures for the two games taking place in the city this week, with both the Atletico and Los Blancos matches having been deemed high risk by the city's Anti-Violence Commission.

It is reported that more than 3 000 members of security personnel will be deployed as a result, with nearly 8000 Dortmund and City supporters expected to arrive in the Spanish capital ahead of the matches.

It is understood the threat is being treated with serious caution, with the last reported ISIS terrorist attack taking place just last month at a concert hall in Moscow, Russia, leaving 143 people dead and a further 200 injured.
