Chippa United and Nigeria star Stanley Nwabali's agent has confirmed the player has an 80% chance of returning to the Super Eagles starting XI for their massive Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final with Angola.
While he may have flown under the radar with his 14 goals conceded so far in this season's DStv Premiership, Nwabali has been immense for the west African giants at the ongoing AFCON.
The 27-year-old has let only one goal into his net at this year's continental showpiece as he helped his team reach their first AFCON quarter-final since the 2019 edition.
Fans of the three-time African champions will have had their hearts in their mouths when they saw the Lagos native being stretchered off in the late stages of their 2-0 Round of 16 victory over Cameroon.
However, they can be much calmer about the matter now, according to his agent, Mohammed Lawal.
The representative, who has another Nigeria international in Umar Sadiq as a client, has insisted that there is a good chance Nwabali will be in goal against Palancas Negras.
"He has an 80% chance of playing," Lawal told KickOff ahead of the last eight encounter.
Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro will likely be depending on the return of the Kaizer Chiefs-linked man, given the prolific nature of the Angola national team at the tournament so far.
Pedro Goncalves' men won the most comprehensively in the previous round of all the remaining teams at the tournament, when they beat Namibia 3-0 at the Stade de Bouake.
