Manchester United battled back on two occasions to rescue a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in Premier League action on Saturday evening.

United coach Erik ten Hag opted against making any changes to the started against Liverpool, but they were hit with another injury in the squad as Antony did not travel with the team.

The home side got the breakthrough in the 15th minute when Dominic Solanke got the better of Willy Kambwala, who had lost his footing, and fired home from the edge of the box.

It took a while for the visitors to get going but they managed to equalise in the 31st minute through Bruno Fernandes' powerful finish from close range, making three goals in his last three league games.

Five minutes later, Bournemouth restored their lead ten minutes before the interval when Justin Kluivert took advantage of some poor defending from United and rifled home a strike at Andre Onana's near post.

Fernandes nearly brought the visitors back on level terms once again as he rattled the frame of the goal with a powerful strike from distance.

The visitors were gifted a way back into the gam on 63 minutes after being awarded a penalty for Adam Smith's lazy handball, which allowed Fernandes to step up and convert for his and United's second goal of the night.

Both sides made changes in the latter stages of the second half in search of the third goal, but chances were hard to come by at both ends of the pitch as time began to wind down.

United will end the weekend outside of the top six after Newcastle United thrashed Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the day,
