An Arsenal star has reportedly offered himself to Spanish giants FC Barcelona after contract issues with the Gunners.

The Italian's contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the current season and he has been a key figure under Mikel Arteta in the absence of Thomas Partey.

Jorginho has made 28 appearances across all competitions but he is reportedly yet to be offered a new deal by the North London outfit.

According to Nacional, the Italy international made the decision to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season after waiting a 'long time' for Arsenal to extend his deal.

Reports earlier in the year claimed the Gunners were preparing talks for a new one-year deal with an option to extend, but nothing has materialised for the midfielder.

The report added that Jorginho has now decided to look elsewhere for a new deal and has seemingly offered his services to Barcelona on a free transfer.

The Spanish side are still looking for a replacement for Sergio Busquets who left the club last season and Jorginho does fit the ball, especially with the club's financial issues.

The midfielder's agent Joao Santos claimed this week that they will talk with the club in the coming months.

“The squad is Arsenal’s strength,” Santos told TMW.

“Today they’re a squad that lead the Premier League, they’re in a position of absolute importance.

“They’re in the Champions League, they face Bayern and there’ll be a lot of emotion until the end of this season.

“He’s out of contract with the Gunners, we’ll talk to them because he’s doing well. If they need him from next season…”
