Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller had some special praise for striker Anthony Modeste after their Egypt Cup triumph.

The Red Devils secured yet another trophy on Thursday evening after defeating Modern Future 4-2 in the final.

Modesete managed to find the back of the net on the night after coming on the second half to replace South African forward Percy Tau.

Koller was full of praise for the former Borussia Dortmund striker and feels he is getting back to his best.

“I’m very pleased that Modeste and Fouad both scored tonight,” Marcel Koller said in the press conference after the game.

“Modeste is a great player and he has been one of the best players to play in the European leagues. I trust him and I expect a lot from him.

“He needed the opportunity to express himself, and anyone who understands football will know that he has a different touch, and I’m happy with his goal and the assist for the fourth.

“When he first arrived, he wasn’t ready because he was sidelined for some time because he suffered from coronavirus but he’s back to his best now,” he added.
