Algeria star Yassine Benzia has reacted after scoring a wonder-goal against Bafana Bafana to help his side salvage a 3-3 draw.

The two sides battled out a thriller that ended all square at 3-3 in a FIFA Series international friendly on Tuesday night.

Algeria struck first through Yassine Benzia, who found the back of the net in the 22nd minute, but their lead lasted little more than 10 minutes before Themba Zwane brought his side back into the game.

The midfielder then struck again late in the first half to give Bafana the edge going into the interval.

Soon after the break, though, Desert Foxes winger Yacine Brahimi found an equaliser.

Momentum would once more shift in the favour of the South Africans, however, as Stellenbosch FC forward Iqraam Rayners found the target to give the visitors a 3-2 lead.

Then, in the 70th minute, Benzia came up with something special to bring his side back on level terms once again, and many consider his strike to be the best of the evening.

After making a run into the box, the Qarabag FK star received the ball with his back to goal. The 29-year-old then flicked it up and unbelievably volleyed the ball in with his left foot.

Speaking after the game, the midfielder played down his strike and shifted the attention to the fact that his side were able to find their way back into the game, adding that they are determined to work with newly-appointed manager Vladimir Petkovic to restore the nation's footballing pride.

"Alhamdulilah [praise be to God], I was able to score this evening; the main thing is that we came back into the match," he told Algerian television channel ENTV, per La Gazette du Fennec.

"It was a great match against South Africa who finished third during the last African Cup of Nations.

"We will work hard with the new coach to bring smiles back to the Algerian people."
