Egypt head coach Rui Vitoria says the team's only target is to win a record-extending eighth Africa Cup of Nations title.

The Pharaohs missed out on eighth title in Cameroon three years ago after losing to Senegal via the penalty shoot-out in the final.

Egypt open their group stage campaign against Mozambique on Sunday night and Vitoria says the team's mission for the tournament is clear.

“We are at a stage where we must give everything to win that cup. Our goal is to win the Africa Cup of Nations," Vitoria said, as per KingFut.

“We have a mission to bring that cup back to Egypt. I believe in the players and the work we are doing. Every match is a final for us.

“Mozambique’s national team is very good, and we must be humble. Clarity is an advantage for any champion. We know the first match is crucial for every team; we must be strong and win against Mozambique or any other team we face.

“A team that lacks organization throughout all stages of the match will find it difficult to succeed. We must control the game, and it won’t always be easy, but we will try to do that starting from tomorrow.”
