Following their latest hammering, head coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed what Abha FC need to work on as the Saudi Pro League hits the home stretch.

Abha lost 5-0 to Al-Shabab on Thursday evening, dealing a blow to their hopes of survival in the 18-team league.

They now sit in 15th place, one point clear of the danger zone, having won seven, drawn four and lost 14 of their 28 matches at this juncture.

The rate at which they are conceding goals, having let in a whopping league-high of 74, has been flagged as an area of huge concern.

Only two games prior, they were on the end of a humiliating result, an 8-0 defeat to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, before bagging a vital victory against Al Fateh five days later.

The South African coach admits Thursday was yet another bad day in the office for his charges as Abha conceded in added time of both halftime and fulltime, with other goals coming in the 57th, 78th and 84th minutes respectively.

“We played a bad match, and we missed a number of opportunities despite the shortage of important players, but this football is full of mistakes that we will work on in the future,” reflected Mosimane, per Al-Youm newspaper.

“Losing is possible, as is winning, but the team must work and work in order to win, hoping that the upcoming matches will be the beginning of the team’s exit from the situation…”, he continued.

Abha’s next game, taking place next Saturday, is up against Al Akhdoud, who sit one place below Mosimane's men in the standings, with only a point separating the two.
