With that win FCSB maintained a seven points advantage at the top with eight games remaining in this championship round which involves the top six teams from the regular season.

The 1986 European champions now have 38 points and could stretch their lead on Sunday night when they host second placed Universitatea Craiova.

However, of interest to South Africa was what happened with Ngezana on Sunday.

In what was his 26th appearance of the season, the former Kaizer Chiefs defender went out injured.

While attempting to clear a cross by Farul Constanta’s Damien Dussat, Ngezana misdirected his header towards his goal and was rescued by his goalkeeper Stefan Tarnovanu who produced an acrobatic save to avoid an own goal.

It was through the process that the 26-year-old then picked up what appeared to be an ankle injury.

He was then replaced by Cameroonian defender Joyskim Dawa for the last half hour of the match.

There hasn’t been anu update from the club on Ngezana’s injury.

FCSB are back in action on Sunday night when they host Universitatea Craiova.
