The agent of Darrel Matsheke has come out guns blazing, accusing Stellenbosch FC of not providing the real reason behind his client's contract termination with the club.

Matsheke, who helped Stellies clinch the Carling Knockout, was recently shown the door following what is said to be a breach of the club's code of conduct.

According to media reports, the 25-year-old Kaizer Chiefs development product had an altercation with head coach Steve Barker.

However, according to the player’s representative from Vodia Players Management, Gerald Baloyi, his client's only sin was to be linked with Orlando Pirates.

"Stellenbosch didn't take the right procedure when it comes to the disciplinary hearing," Baloyi tells KickOff.

"As Vodia Players Management, we feel like Stellenbosch didn't respect us as the company that represents Darrel.

"We only found out through the media that Darrel was being released. And those allegations, about Darrel saying what they say he said to the coach, are not true.

"The truth is, Darrel had some differences with one of the players there. Obviously that didn't go down well with them, so they accuse Darrel of saying what they claim he said to the coach.

"That's the story I got from my client. Even the alcohol story, it was the first time I heard of Darrel going to work drunk.

"It's all lies because Darrel is not new to football, he knows the procedure, and he knows these teams (have) got rules.

"They didn't bother informing me as his agent that Darrel was misbehaving. They only sent me the report now, which I find difficult to understand.

"Stellenbosch treated the boy badly. They said what they said because they believed he was on his way to Orlando Pirates, and that's fake news because I have not spoken to Pirates about Darrel. What I know is that one of my clients is negotiating with Pirates, and it's not Darrel.

"Stellenbosch, in their minds, they think Darrel has signed a pre-contract with Pirates. That's what started all this.

"There’s a big rumour making rounds in the social media claiming Darrel has signed a pre-contract with Pirates.

"I didn't like the way Stellenbosch behaved. They disrespected me. I'm sure they looked at my height and thought I was a young boy. They should have communicated with me first."
