Royal AM remain a common denominator in the latest update issued by FIFA on clubs serving transfer bans due to failure to adhere to the world governing body’s rulings.
The KwaZulu-Natal club now stand as the only DStv Premiership serving registration ban sanctions with the transfer ban on Chippa United now lifted after settling Abdi Banda’s payments.

Banda spent the 2022/23 season at Chippa but left with unsettled issues which led to him filing a case with FIFA over unpaid monies amounting to R1,2 million.
With the matter not resolved as of November 2023, FIFA then issued a judgement that prohibits Chippa from signing new players.
Chippa have already made their first signing in Cameroon striker Bienvenu Eva Nga.
However, for Royal AM, they will continue to drag their image and that of the domestic game through the mud.
The transfer ban related to Samir Nurkovic that came into effect on July 3, 2023, remains in place.
Royal AM have chosen to appeal FIFA’s ruling through the expensive and time-consuming channel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport where appeal fees of over half a million rands have to be paid before the hearing is confirmed.
FIFA’s ruling states that Nurkovic must be paid millions.
The transfer ban relating to Nurkovic will stretch into the next transfer window.
Another ban on Royal AM’s backs relates to Ricardo Nascimento.
Just like Nurkovic, Nascimento won the case that he took up to FIFA after several months of unsuccessful attempts to find a solution to his litany of grievances contained his contract which included unpaid winning bonuses amongst others.
Nascimento is owed R600 000 (plus 5% interest per annum).
The Brazilian’s matter means Royal AM will not be able to make new signings until next year.

These two cases are pending further developments.
The now defunct Royal Eagles – which was related to Royal AM – has pending FIFA bans.
