The impressive form has catapulted the 22-year-old straight into the final 23-man squad currently in Ivory Coast to represent Bafana in the Afcon.

Not only that, But it's understands that Appollis is now being monitored by several top-sides looking to strengthen their squads next season, including Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United among others.

According to insiders, City are growing resigned to the idea of losing Appollis but will need a convincing fee to let of a player who joined just six months ago on a contract that runs until June 2026.

"Sure, some teams have asked about him already and more expected to inquire. To be honest, it will be difficult to keep him," an insider told KickOff.

"He will stay beyond the January window, but I don’t see him staying beyond the season. He’s a very talented boy and the club knows his ambitions and knows that teams will want to sign him. Ultimately, he has a contract with the club that is still fresh so it will take a good offer."

The silver-lining for City is that they stand to benefit greatly from the sale of Appollis, a hefty fee would be required to prize Appollis away from Rise and Shine just a year into his contract.

Additionally, the fee could serve City with just enough to strengthen their own squad in the new season.

The Limpopo outfit started the campaign strongly keeping up with the top four, however they have slipped down to ninth place after 16 matches, pointing to fatigue and a lack of squad depth.
