Orlando Pirates will still have to wait for at least another week to know who they will be facing in the Nedbank Cup last 32.

SAFA Mpumalanga are yet to confirm their representatives as the case between Middelburg United and Crystal Lake continues to drag on.

Whoever is declared the winner by the SAFA Arbitration is set to meet the Buccaneers at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday 24 February, 2024.

According to SAFA Mpumalanga CEO Bevan Mahlangu, a verdict will only be issued next week Friday.

"There was a protest between our finalists, which is Middelburg United and Crystal Lake," Mahlangu tells KickOff.

"There was a protest in that match regarding a Crystal Lake Physio, the match ended 1-0 in favour of Crystal Lake, and Middlelburg lodged a protest.

"The protest was first dismissed at the first protest sitting, and Middelburg United took the matter further, and it's now with the Arbitration.

"The match sat yesterday, and they only finished around 1 a.m today, but they still have to submit their arguments, and the chairman of the Arbitration will make the decision by next week Friday.

"We were hoping the decision would be taken today, but since it's a matter between the two teams, us we were just hoping for the matter to be finalised.

"As Safa we are not part of it, we just facilitate. The protest it was dismissed at the protest sitting.

"At the current moment there is no final ruling, so I don't want to subject SAFA to something, only to be accused of taking sides.

"I think we just have to wait for the protest to be concluded, and maybe we can only be able to comment on it thereafter.

"Middelburg United they were alleging that the Physio that was captured on the team sheet, is not the same person with the one that was with Crystal Lake."
