The return of Dylan Kerr to Marumo Gallants has been given the stamp of approval as results continue to improve since he was brought in at the end of January.

With Kerr in the shadows, Marumo have won four from seven on all competitions showing encouraging signs.

Kerr previously worked at the club in the period after just Abram Sello took over two years before renaming and rebranding the club from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

Though he was announced as a consultant, Kerr has overseen the training sessions and has not only not been able to sit on the bench due to the wait for the issuing of his work permit.

Marumo are on a battle to avoid the drop from the DStv Premiership and to the contrary stand a health chance of progressing to the last eight in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"We think with his (Kerr) presence and with whatever he brought into the team to add on what is there is assisting us as a team," acknowledges interim coach Raymond Mdaka.

"When most of the people talk about Marumo Gallants they talk about a team that plays good football but doesn’t get results.

"So, we were looking at that area the most to say how can we play good football and do it with goals.

"This then means winning becomes the priority.

Celimpilo Ngema and Lesiba Nku.

"The approaches will not be the same as different personnel.

"But the thing is in a very short space of time with the same players who understand each other it makes it easy for any other way of changing in terms of the approach, the structure or the system," says Madaka.

Marumo are up against USM Alger of Algeria in the CAF Confederation Cup at Dobsonville Stadium this afternoon in a game being played without fans.
