Marumo Gallants FC technical advisor Dylan Kerr remains optimistic they will turn the tables on Yanga SC on Wednesday.

Gallants host the Tanzanians at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup semi-final.

The Limpopo club needs to over-turn a 2-0 deficit to reach the Confed final.

Kerr says they are banking on top scorer Ranga Chivaviro to help them turn the tie in their favour.

“We’ve done so well in the 19 games since I’ve been here, both in the league and in CAF, in very, very extreme circumstances,” Kerr tells KickOff.

“We are playing to win tonight, we need two score two, three goals or four goals.

“We know they’ve got an advantage of being two-nil up but it’s not really irreversible.

“Once we get our first goal the game is on, but I know we got to be careful of the away goal.

“I’m expecting Yanga to sit on their two-nil lead and counter.

“Hopefully we’ve got the players that can break them down.

“We’ve got a very good squad of players so whether they will get injuries before Saturday’s game against Swallows…one thing we know is we can’t get suspensions.

“We lost Ranga because he’s got four yellows, so now we expect him Ranga to go all out and get as many goals as he can to try and catch up.

“I think he is two goals behind on the CAF Golden Boot, so we hoping Ranga come to the party today and gives us extra power.

“So, we can put away the disappointment of missing chances in Tanzania. So, I can’t think of anything different in today’s game.

“We will sort out everything by tonight 10 o’clock, that’s when we will start planning for the weekend game in Dobsonville.

“But for now, every semi-final is important, I mean we are one game away from the final.

“However, the people look at it, the Confederations Cup it’s equivalent to the Europa League in Europe.

“Especially for a club like Marumo Gallants, to reach the final of the Confederations Cup would not only be remarkable for the club, but it will also be fantastic for the country.”
