The trip to TP Mazembe’s home in the second group match of the CAF Champions League will count as number 20 that Mokwena has run the rule in as the man in charge.
All the 19 that he has overseen have been played through the 2023 calendar year starting out with the 1-0 over AL Hilal in February in what was the opening group match in last season’s Champions League.
Since then, The Brazilians have not lost a match under Mokwena with their run reading WWDWDWWWDDWWW.

Sundowns have also played six matches in the African Football League which they won in its inaugural edition with their only defeat in that competition having been in the first leg of the final.
So far, Mokwena has no defeat in the Champions League – a run that he will be out to protect away at TP Mazembe.
The match at Mazembe will be game number 145 for Sundowns in the Champions League since South Africa’s readmission to international football in 1992.
The Brazilians made their debut appearance on the continent in 1994 playing in the African Cup of Champions Clubs after having won the domestic league the previous year.
